We are seeking an experienced Compressor Mechanic to join our team for a client assignment in the Carlsbad, New Mexico area.

Job Description

San Juan, Permian, and DJ Basins. Our commitment to safety, technical expertise and
dependable service guides our work and our client relationships. We are seeking an experienced
Compressor Mechanic to join our team for a client assignment in the Carlsbad, New Mexico
area.
Candidates must have hands-on experience maintaining and repairing Caterpillar G3606 and
G3608 natural gas engines and Ariel reciprocating compressors.
Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and routine servicing on natural gas
compression equipment.
• Respond to callouts and troubleshoot shutdowns, alarms and equipment failures.
• Diagnose and repair engine, compressor, ignition, fuel, lubrication and cooling-system
issues.
• Inspect and service compressor valves, packing and related components.
• Perform equipment startup and post-maintenance checks according to approved
procedures.
• Monitor operating conditions and communicate developing issues and repair
recommendations.
• Complete maintenance records, work orders, parts requests and shift handoffs.
• Coordinate with client operations personnel to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
• Follow CCI and client safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, pressure isolation,
gas monitoring and required PPE.
• Maintain the supplied truck, tools and work areas in a safe, organized condition.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated field experience with Caterpillar G3606/G3608 engines and Ariel
compressors.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and use service manuals, schematics and diagnostic
equipment.
• Reliable attendance, strong communication skills and a commitment to safe work
practices.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to CCI’s vehicle requirements.
• Ability to work the 8-on/6-off rotation and respond to callouts during assigned coverage.
• Ability to perform essential field duties in outdoor conditions, with or without reasonable
accommodation.
• Ability to meet applicable CCI and client onboarding and site-access requirements.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without
reasonable accommodation, including:
• Occasionally lift and carry tools, equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Use
mechanical lifting equipment or team assistance for heavier or awkward loads.
• Stand and walk for extended periods while inspecting, servicing and repairing equipment,
including uneven terrain.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach to access engine and compressor
components.
• Climb ladders, stairs and equipment access platforms using required safety procedures
and fall protection.
• Safely operate a company vehicle and drive between remote job sites on highways and
unpaved lease roads.
• Use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment, including repetitive gripping and
turning motions.
• Read gauges, identify equipment conditions and communicate effectively around
operating machinery.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, wind and dusty conditions, with appropriate protective
measures and work/rest practices.
• Wear required PPE, including FRC, safety footwear, hard hat, eye protection, hearing
protection and a personal gas monitor.
Physical demands and driving time vary by daily assignment and callout needs.
